In Optional Ending with Pigeons New uses the history, environment and architecture of Newport’s Substation to generate a spontaneous improvised performance which is fun, twisted, playful and totally unexpected…even by her…and may include pigeons.
During the 45 minute performance event New channeled previous inhabitants and visitors to the historic building. Using the unique architecture and audience members to inspire her movement, sound and story telling and improvisation. In the performance New wears a dress created specifically for the event with images from her performance and the Substation building
