This durational, interactive site-specific performance work took place in the Nicholas building elevator over a number of hours as was part of the Greed Project .
The performer and participants discussed what they wanted and then blew their want’s into balloons, writing on the balloon what it was they wanted.
During the performance the elevator moved up and down, reflecting the ups and downs of desire. The excited up feeling of anticipation and the down of having what we want and then wanting the next thing.Never satisfied with what we have.
As the performance progressed the elevator filled up with the balloons which over flowed into the corridors. Just as our consumer society is creating more and more waste with all of the things we ‘Want’.
