Saturday November 19th 1.30 pm

Surface Reflections | Subterranean Echoes brings together the individual artistic practices of long-time theatre collaborates Paula van Beek and Gabrielle Leah New.  Placing their work together, in the form of installation, projection and screen works, they open a dialogue between social persona and internal states of being.

In this exhibition van Beek seeks to complicate the public spaces and faces that construct our image-obsessed society in contrast to New’s use of the body in performance to externalise internal physiological landscapes.

The shared gallery space becomes alive with ways of looking and ways of being seen. This immersive environment investigates the slippage between visible and invisible aspects of the self. The exhibition will include new work developed specially for AC Gallery, and a live interactive performance event featuring both artists.

Meet thy Neighbor

The PIC (Performance, Interaction, Collaboration) Art Fair by the OK Collective is a unique art fair experience focusing on performance and community engaged art from a whole range of amazing practitioners.

I have created a new work with Lauren Cruikshank called ‘Meet thy Neighbor’. An opportunity to find out the juice on someone who would normally pass you by in life. Find points of connection, discover things you never imagined and come away enriched from meeting someone new.
