Luftmensch (n) explores the relationship between costume, performance, self, other, internal and external space to examine the psychological phenomena of the unconscious. A wearable object -a cloud, is worn over the head to block vision and extend into the space around the head. Symbolically representing the effects of our thoughts onto the environment around us or to block and separate us from our world.
The viewer is invited to sit in the peripheral space of the voyeur which exists at the edge of the screen, one who sits on the periphery looking in. There is no sound; the viewer is not invited into the world of the cloud wearer. The cloud wearer is not engaged with their external world hence also exists at the periphery.
