The Fates, The Ladies, The Kindly Ones

Check out a new video work made for Copy, Cut, Post curated by Paula van Beek at Metanoia Gallery Space.

Responding to the call to explore our instant click and post culture of social media and online identity creation – 10 female artists were challenged to create an artwork in just one day .

Copy, Cut, Post is an experiment exploring the evolution of our own relationship to self and image. The artists had one day to create their own artwork which confronts the complexity of making meaningful self-portraits in this disposable digital age.

This is my outcome which consisted of the video work and 3 sculptural installation pieces.

The work explores the archetypal elements of the feminine as a triplet: The Maiden, Mother and Crone andthrough various other cultural lenses.

23rd July 2016, 10-5pm

Making Moves is a one day workshop for people who love to move, be in their body and explore new ways to access authentic expression through their body.
No experience required just a willingness to explore, create and connect.
Making Moves draws on New’s 20 year practice with Butoh Dance Theatre, Bodyweather, Improvisation and performance art.
In this workshop you will challenge and expand your body/mind relationship, use the different senses as a way to generate authentic movement, explore the edges of what your own body can create and deeply connect with your dancing spirit.
The body is the house of the spirit, through movement we can set that spirit free. The good, the bad, the ugly exist within and around us and through our movement we can express and connect with all aspects of our true selves.
